Straight staircase made of steel and wood

An impressive staircase had to be built at the entrance of this PVH warehouse (Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein). In close cooperation with Standard Studio we have created a design in steel and wood.

The steps are kept as thin as possible (12 mm steel) and contrast nicely with the robust handrails and balustrade of almost 200 mm thick. The dark walnut gives a warm appearance.

The enormous staircase brought a few constructive challenges. Fortunately, we were able to drive in with a crane truck during assembly. In this way the steel base of the staircase could be hoisted into its place.
